Don is a 40-year veteran of the Central Florida music scene. Having played at almost every venue in the area, from night clubs to Walt Disney World, Don has led popular local bands and entertained thousands of individuals over the years. Most of his time has been spent as a band leader but he has extensive experience in the booking side of the business.
During the ‘70’s, Don played with the popular local band Sky Dancing. This top-40 band toured on the club circuit all over the U.S. Don has always believed in putting on the best show possible and fully giving customers and clients the most value for their money.
Don is a founding member of Wings of Sound, serves as the band’s leader, and makes all important event announcements from the stage.
Dian is one of the nation’s top Aretha Franklin impersonators and a well-seasoned industry professional. She has performed live television shows for United Way, Cerebral Palsy, and Cystic Fibrosis; and has performed live with Tony Award winner/singer/actress Melba Moore. Her movie credits include Sea Quest, Second Noah, and My Son the Match Maker. Dian’s musical talents have taken her to the United Arab Emirates, Dubai, and the U.S. East and West Coasts.
Dian is currently bringing crowds to their feet at Universal Studios Orlando with the fabulous “Blues Brothers Rhythm and Blues Review” in her role as “Mabel” from “Mel’s Diner.” She is proud to be the female vocalist for Wings of Sound for 12 years.
She thanks her Creator for her gift of song and performance, electrifying voice and hypnotic rhythm you won’t soon forget.
John K. Brown
John started singing at a very young age and God has continued to bless him with a career in the music industry. He grew up in Louisville, KY — a Southern boy — and attended performing art schools from late elementary school and all through college.
His first taste of musical theatre came when his mother sent him to Europe on tour with his performing high school ensemble where he was the lead vocalist. His BFA degree in musical theatre and AA in staging and directing has brought him a long way and he thanks God.
His credits include 10 years at Walt Disney World (currently as Judge #1 at “The American Idol Experience”), leadership coordinator for “Enviropals” (currently running on PBS) and a seven-year member of the acclaimed international a cappella group Rockapella (from the hit PBS show “Where in the World is Carmen San Diego”).
His new album “Unplugged” (a cappella gospel) has been nominated for over six awards including Best Religious Album, Best Song of the Year, Best CD of the Year and is the current winner for the Best National Male Artist of the Year.
Gary, born and raised in Florida, graduated from Edgewater High School and attended the University of Central Florida. He majored in music with classical training.
His rich voice can range from a bass baritone to a tenor, with ease and grace. His performance experience extends from stage as a lead actor in a locally-produced musical called “Suddenly Senior” to comedic interaction.
Gary brings a variety of vocal styles to the band. “It’s a hobby that is fun without feeling like it’s work,” he says. Gary thanks God and his family for their support and for always believing in him.
He and Rhonda, his wife of 27 years, have three daughters, Raquel, Reina and Rheann.
Keyboardist and backup singer Mike Davis is the consummate professional musician. He knows literally thousands of songs and can play and write in many styles. He is committed to bringing that diversity and professionalism to any event, along with a fun and energetic attitude.
In his 20-plus years’ experience in the Central Florida music community, Mike has performed for hundreds of conventions, weddings and shows at venues such as The Peabody Hotel, Gaylord Palms, JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, Walt Disney World, and Universal Studios.
When he’s not playing with Wings of Sound, Mike is a highly successful church music director, and he tours with his four CD’s of original music.
Jeff Green has been the bassist in “Wings of Sound” for nearly a quarter century. Jeff was born in New Jersey and grew up in Miami where he studied at Miami Dade and Florida Atlantic University. Jeff is featured on the “Whyte Lyte” CD “New York 5AM” and his own CD “From My Heart”. Since the early 90’s Jeff has owned and operated GreenHouse Productions, recording and producing for hire.
Walt was born in Newport News, Virginia and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Miami in 1986 while also maintaining a busy performing and recording schedule around Miami. He has performed with the popular “Lab Band,” jazz organist Joe Jones, the Norfolk Symphony, and has toured throughout Europe with the “Miami Jazz Sextet.” Walt joined Wings of Sound in 1994 and is an active full time, professional musician in Central Florida since 1986. His varied experience and education are an asset to the variety of music that Wings of Sound performs. Walt is married with a loving family.
Susie founded Wonderful Weddings in 1989, the original and longest-established wedding design, planning and coordination company in Central Florida. In her capacity as a wedding planner, she first met Wings of Sound in 1991; they quickly became her favorite band to recommend to her clients. She was asked to become the band’s manager in 2001 and accepted the invitation without hesitation. She brings her 24 years of industry experience to the band that includes excellent written and communication skills, creative marketing abilities, and the knowledge to make a party flow for the clients of the band. Susie is married and has two grown children.
